miniHamamatsu.jpgHamamatsu Corporation's S9132 profile sensor provides numerous advantages over conventional CMOS area image sensors and two-dimensional position-sensitive detectors in detection applications. The S9132 is designed for inspection equipment, medical measurement devices, and virtually any other light-spot-position or moving-object detection applications.

The S9132 acquires a projection profile in the X- and Y-axes to produce high-speed position and moving-object detection, even from very small amounts of information, compared with conventional area image sensors. Images can be produced as quickly as 1.2 µs per channel when the S9132 is in 8-bit mode, or 2.4 µs per channel when it is in 10-bit mode. Covering a spectral response range of 350 to ~1150 nm, the sensor achieves peak sensitivity of 40 V/nJ (high gain) or 8 V/nJ (low gain) at 780 nm.
