For brighter chip-on-board LED assemblies, Dymax Corp. has introduced four acrylic encapsulating resins for use with its Dymax 2000-EC curing system. Light-Cap 9614, 9615, 9616 and 9617's resistance to high operating temperatures lessens the yellowing over the lifetime of the LED. The resins provide UV cures in 30 to 45 s and have properties such as lower stress, minimal shrinkage and low outgassing. The encapsulants bond with many plastics and substrates, such as UV-absorbing clear or tinted grades of glass.
