QUANTUM DOTS EviDot Composites made by Evident Technologies Inc. are quantum dots ranging in size from 2 to 10 nm that can be formulated to be compatible with reference standards, LEDs, spin coating, ink-jet printing, spraying and screen printing, and to control film thickness, uniformity and concentration. The semiconductor nanocrystals are available in prepared films, optical mounts and a UV-curable resin, and as a custom order in polymers, including polycarbonate, polystyrene, PMMA and sol-gels. The composites enable the use of quantum dots in solid matrix materials to allow product developers to control the form factor of the dots for creation of films, beads, fibers and micron-size particles. They emit light from 490 to 2300 nm, permanently bond to the substrate and provide color variety.
