SMART CAMERAS Matrox Imaging's Iris P series programmable smart cameras combine the sensor, processing and software technologies in one package. Designed for professional developers and OEMs, they can be customized for automotive, electronics, pharmaceutical, robotics, surveillance and traffic control applications. The cameras provide hardware for image sensing and a software application-programming interface for image analysis. An embedded ultralow-power Intel architecture processor runs on the Windows CE.NET real-time operating system and is programmed via Visual C++ and the Matrox Imaging Library to power the camera. A variety of CCD image sensors with square pixels are available to support sub- to megapixel resolutions, higher readout or frame rates, and monochrome or color images. Other features include an Ethernet network interface, an externally triggered or internally controlled electronic shutter, an RS-232 serial port and auxiliary digital I/Os.
