LINE-SCAN CAMERAS Atmel Corp. has unveiled the AviiVa SM2 and AviiVa SC2 line-scan CCD cameras with white balance and color space correction and with flat-field correction capabilities to compensate for lens and light source nonuniformities. They support a Camera Link serial interface, are compatible with most Camera Link frame grabbers and come with CommCam software. Applications include food sorting, wood and currency inspection, CD and DVD quality control, and flat panel displays.
