LASER-LINE FILTERS Semrock Inc. has launched its MaxLine optical thin-film laser-line filters for laser spectral enhancement in Raman spectroscopy and fluorescence applications. Transmission is >90% at the laser line, and optical density is >5.0 at wavelengths that differ by only 1% from the laser wavelength. The filters have a 12.5-mm diameter and are available for 532-, 632.8- and 785-nm lasers. They are made with hard-coating technology, with no adhesives in the optical path.

That branch of spectroscopy concerned with Raman spectra and used to provide a means of studying pure rotational, pure vibrational and rotation-vibration energy changes in the ground level of molecules. Raman spectroscopy is dependent on the collision of incident light quanta with the molecule, inducing the molecule to undergo the change.
