Point Grey Research Inc. has enhanced its Scorpion line of cameras with the addition of the SCOR-14SO model. The camera uses the Sony ICX267 CCD sensor to stream 1.4-megapixel images at 19 fps, with resolution of 1360 × 1024. It provides custom image modes, automatic synchronization, general-purpose I/O and a built-in RS-232 serial port. The device is offered with a development kit that includes a 4.5-m, six-pin IEEE-1394 cable, a PCI host adapter card, a C/CS-mount lens holder, a 12-pin Hirose connector, a proprietary FlyCapture C/C++ API and device driver, a C/C++ image acquisition library and an example source code for quick start within the programming environment.
