Suitable for photometric and radiometric calibrations and for verifying the performance of solid-state light sources, photodiodes, imaging systems and CCD/CMOS sensors and cameras, Gamma Scientific has unveiled the RS-5B digital light source system. The third-generation instrument is spectrally tunable, programmable and self-calibrating. Its 16-bit color-tunable output can be set to cover all or any part of the UV/VIS/ near-IR regions. Features include a built-in radiometer and colorimeter, ambient-light correction and a light-level setting adjustable to one part in 65,535 in absolute, NIST-traceable, radiometric and photometric units. Linearity and uniformity are <0.1% rms over the 0-to-65,535 intensity range. Light-illuminance settling time is <0.1 s.
