Image Station 4000 digital imaging systems manufactured by Eastman Kodak Co.'s Scientific Imaging Systems group have a 4 million pixel CCD and a 10× optical zoom lens to provide spatial resolution of up to 10 µm per pixel. True 16-bit imaging produces accurate gray-scale resolution and a broad linear dynamic range for quantitative imaging of membranes, electrophoresis gels, plates, tissues and in vivo assays. Two models are available. The IS4000MM offers multiwavelength illumination to improve detection sensitivity and to reduce background for most fluorescent labels. The IS4000R uses broadband UV illumination to image UV fluorescent dyes as well as chemiluminescent and colorimetric labels.
