River Diagnostics BV has introduced the HPRM 2500 high-performance Raman module, optimized for confocal measurements in the near-IR. When coupled with the user's microscope, the modular and fully aligned device provides a highly sensitive Raman microprobe. Its high signal throughput is constant over the spectral range and virtually independent of signal polarization. Wave number and intensity calibration are automated, providing reliable spectrum repeatability, stability and instrument-to-instrument transfer of data. An optional configuration that allows both orthogonal signal polarizations to be measured simultaneously is available.

An instrument consisting essentially of a tube 160 mm long, with an objective lens at the distant end and an eyepiece at the near end. The objective forms a real aerial image of the object in the focal plane of the eyepiece where it is observed by the eye. The overall magnifying power is equal to the linear magnification of the objective multiplied by the magnifying power of the eyepiece. The eyepiece can be replaced by a film to photograph the primary image, or a positive or negative relay...
