LIGHT SCATTERING Wyatt Technology has launched the Dawn Heleos, a device that combines online multiangle and quasielastic light-scattering detection in a single instrument. It achieves a dynamic range of 126 dB and stability of greater than 0.01 °C, and it operates at temperatures from 0 to 150 °C. A 24-bit A/D measurement system has separate A/D's for each detector channel, providing uniform sensitivity over the entire range of scattering intensities and eliminating the need for postdetector amplifiers. An Ethernet interface enables operation on a corporate network, allowing the user to control and observe the status of the instrument from multiple locations.
