The MC73110 announced by Performance Motion Devices Inc. is a single-axis motor control integrated circuit with a precision velocity loop for brushless DC motors. It operates in internal velocity profile, velocity and torque modes and is suitable for semiconductor and medical automation applications. It uses velocity feedback from an encoder or via a direct-input analog tachometer signal. By means of an on-chip A/D converter, it digitizes analog current feedback and provides multiple current sensing methods to maximize motor performance. It also performs trajectory generation, commutation, encoder input and Hall sensor input.
