Providing high accuracy over 500 mm of travel, the Pyramid-Nano was developed by Kern Micro- und Feinwerktechnik GmbH & Co. KG for high-precision machining. It is equipped with hydrostatic drives and guides to avoid cogging and with an automatic workpiece changer. Constructed of Kern-Armorit polymer concrete reinforced with steel bars, the machine is rigid enough to absorb most vibrations. Its dividing head, with torque drives, includes the fifth and sixth axes. The machine is available with a choice of spindles, 500 to 55,000 rpm at 6.4 kW or 200 to 36,000 rpm at 22 kW.
