Armstrong Optical Ltd.’s IR112 thermal sensor module enables operators to use 40% more pixels for 8- to 14-µm infrared imaging applications. Based on a 384 × 288-pixel array of 35-µm square pixels made from amorphous silicon, the uncooled microbolometer array integrates easily into third-party thermal imaging camera systems. The plug-and-play module offers standard PAL/NTSC video output and a FireWire interface. Gain, offset, zoom, brightness, contrast and image display are available through standard interfaces. It is suitable for such applications as energy management, building surveys, and medical and veterinary thermography.
