Released by Lambda Research Corp., TracePro Bridge for SolidWorks is an add-in to the mechanical design software SolidWorks. Users can include optical components, light sources and detectors directly in mechanical layouts and designs within the software. The complete optomechanical models are exported to TracePro for ray tracing, analysis and optical design validation. The add-in lets users assign optical properties to the model within the SolidWorks interface with a mouse click, and to view properties of the model’s objects and surfaces in the software. It also enables efficient transition of models between optical and mechanical design software.
