AUBURN, Mass., Dec. 8 -- Nanopositioning manufacturer PI (Physik Instrumente) has introduced the new P-714 for high-speed XY-nanopositioning and scanning. The company says these ultracompact, piezo-driven stages were designed for cost-sensitive applications. They feature a very high-resonant frequency of 2.2 kHz for submillisecond response. Integrated high-resolution position sensors and piezoelectric drives provide sub-nanometer resolution, important for high-resolution scanning, alignment and positioning applications.
