ACOUSTO-OPTIC MODULATOR Gooch & Housego plc has introduced the M110-1×-GH1 and -GH2 all-purpose acousto-optic modulators with broadband antireflection coatings for amplitude modulation of a variety of low-power gas and diode lasers. Available for use in the visible (450 to 650 nm) and the VIS/NIR (650 to 850 nm) regions, their interaction material is lead molybdate. Transmission is >95%, rise and fall time is 180 ns/mm, typical diffracted beam ellipticity is <5%, and typical diffraction efficiency is >85%. The GH1 models have a 1-mm active aperture, and the GH2, 2 mm.
