IPG Laser GmbH has introduced the diode-pumped, solid-state Model
YLPM-3000, a pulsed single-mode ytterbium fiber laser. The unit
operates at 1060 nm with 1.5-ns pulses and a repetition rate tunable
between 50 and 100 MHz. An external TTL signal from an RF source
modulates the pulse train with a frequency between 1 and 50 Mb/s. The
laser produces up to 25 W peak power and was designed as an OEM unit
for chemical-free, high-speed, high-resolution, large-film color
printing equipment.
