PI/Acton has introduced its SpectraPro HRE high-resolution echelle spectrograph, a unique approach to spectrograph design that is ideally suited for use with PI/Acton’s CCD and ICCD camera systems. The SpectraPro HRE achieves high spectral resolution over the entire wavelength range of the camera without any moving parts. The system is ideal for general spectroscopy applications as well as laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy. Unique interchangeable wavelength dispersive elements offer the option of choosing the best resolution and wavelength for any application. Without having to purchase a new spectrograph, the element can be changed to suit a different resolution or wavelength coverage requirement. A wide selection of input apertures can be selected, from as small as 10 microns to as large as 100 microns. The user has the ability to choose the desired wavelength interval per point in the spectrum. Example calibration images can be generated to ease the peak selection and calibration can be achieved simply by using two points on the image of known spectral lines. Once calibrated, spectra can be obtained in real-time as the spectral orders are linked, linearized and plotted using the WinSpec Snap-in.
