The new UV-FQ laser from Elforlight is designed to replace nitrogen lasers in MALDI (matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization mass spectroscopy) systems, enabling the next generation of high-throughput instruments and MALDI imaging systems.

Repetition rates to 10 kHz, with 100 microJoule energy at 1 kHz and pulse widths of approximately 4 ns at 355 nm, closely match nitrogen laser parameters, but with excellent TEM00 beam quality. Diode- pumped solid-state design increases reliability and extended lifetimes, compared to older gas laser technology. Field replaceable pump diodes minimize system downtime.

The UV-FQ laser head space envelope is compatible with common nitrogen laser footprints. The laser exhibits timing jitter specified at <+/-1 ns with respect to an external trigger input (typically +/-500 ps), making it ideal for MALDI-TOF usage. Your system can now control the laser.
