The CL-850 high-speed laser cutting system manufactured by Cincinnati Inc. combines a 5000-W laser resonator with a third-generation linear motor drive system to deliver 10,000-in./min head positioning. The system offers standard autofocus and a breakaway feature that keeps debris from entering the beam path and that enables beam alignment checking without removing the head. A height sensor that is insensitive to plasma enables higher feed rates on thin metal using N2 or air assist gas. Available in 5 × 10- and 6 × 12-ft cutting table models, the system includes proprietary quick-change dual pallets that allow one table to be unloaded/reloaded while the second is being processed. The laser frame’s heavy plate construction lends increased rigidity and stability.
