The benchtop Vertex 80v released by Bruker Optics Inc. is a high-resolution vacuum Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer for use in research applications. It rejects interference from atmospheric gases such as water vapor and carbon dioxide. Data acquisition is based on integrated dual-channel 24-bit analog-to-digital converters that yield a high signal-to-noise ratio. The linear air-bearing UltraScan interferometer and True-Alignment active alignment system produce better than 0.07-cm–1 optical resolution and good stability. The upgradable spectrometer features the proprietary artificial intelligence network, automatic optical component and accessory recognition, and a plug-and-play Ethernet connection. Its wide spectral range extends from the far- through the near- and mid-IR and to the visible and UV regions.
