Vision Components GmbH has unveiled the VC44xx CCD camera series for complex industrial applications. The compact devices incorporate a 1-GHz digital signal processor, rendering PC-based processing unnecessary. Cameras in the series provide resolution of up to two megapixels and can record up to 250 images per second (500 fps in binning mode). Standard internal memory capacity of 64 MB RAM can be extended to 128 MB. An Ethernet interface connects the cameras to networks and enables access via the Internet to facilitate remote configuration. The company’s proprietary VCRT real-time operating system controls all camera functions, and the cameras are programmable in C and CC++.
