Responding to the demand for lenses that are compatible with large-size camera sensors, Navitar Inc. has launched the Raptar Pro family of large-format imaging lenses for the line-scan- and large-area-sensor markets. The first lens in the series is the 1× Raptar Pro. Providing nominal magnification of 1.0×, this 86-mm high-resolution lens can image on sensors up to 90 mm with less than 0.1% distortion, enabling sharpness and contrast at apertures from f/4 to f/22. It is sized for 12k line-scan sensors, producing up to 100-lines-per-millimeter image space resolution, and is optimized for working distances of 95 mm. Mounting options for T, C, F and SLR camera formats are offered as well as a rear coupler designed specifically for the Dalsa 12k Piranha series cameras. Applications include machine vision, quality control and web inspection, biomedical imaging and product manufacturing.
