Newport Corp.'s model 5600 high-power laser diode driver operates in either CW or quasi-CW mode. Providing up to 65 A of output, the device can drive multiple high-power laser diode bars in series. The IEEE-488 and RS-232C interfaces enable full 16-bit control and characterization of laser diodes. Users can program an internal function generator from 200 Hz to 300 kHz with a sine-wave or square-wave output, which allows signal modulation in the constant current and constant power modes. Versions are available with maximum compliance voltage from 5 to 30 V.
