MELAKA, Malaysia, Feb. 13, 2007 -- LED maker Dominant Semiconductors introduces the brightest single-chip high-power amber, orange and yellow LED in a PLCC-4 package, which produces maximum light output of 7.4 lm at an operating current of 50 mA.

DominantSemiconductors.jpgThe new amber, orange and yellow color of the Power DomiLED is 50 percent brighter than its predecessor. Its high output means it can be used more extensively, making it the perfect LED choice for a wide range of applications, the company said.

In terms of design and dimensions, the package is the same as other Power DomiLEDs (3.2 [L] x 2.8 [W] x 1.8 [H] mm). According to the company, it is highly suited to exterior and interior automotive illumination applications, such as center high-mounted stop lamps, signal indicators and dashboards, channel lighting, illuminated advertising and special-effect lighting. It provides the same amount of light with fewer light sources, saving energy and reducing costs for the entire lighting system.
