Fiber Bundles with 300W

Lumics, a manufacturer of pump laser modules and laser chips, has introduced a line of fiber-bundle lasers with up to 300 W optical output power at 0.9 µm wavelength from a fiber bundle.

The LU0975C300 features 300 W optical output power from multiple fibers in a single connector output. The standard SMA 905 connector output is specified with 1-mm fiber diameter. A red beam aiming laser is optional.

The laser diodes are assembled on a water-cooled plate in a space-saving, double-layer design. The laser units are available at 915, 940nm, 960 and 975 wavelengths.

The new laser uses very small TO220 fiber-coupled, single-emitter diodes to operate over a 0- to 50-°C ambient temperature range. The footprint is specified at 310 x170 mm with a maximum height of 70 mm.

The device is based on Lumics proprietary chip technology, which features laser facet passivation.
