lOPO The OPOtune-3.5 is the result of a joint venture between Edinburgh Instruments and St. Andrews University. The new company is called Tunable Laser Technology. The device is a diode-pumped continuous-wave optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with output power from 3.5 µm to 1 W. The compact, rugged OPO, which measures 45 cm (L) x 30 cm (W) x 12.5 cm (H), comes in a portable package with no consumables. Its applications include all those in the 3.5-µm region, including interferometry, materials processing and IR surveillance.
