An optically clear UV curable system has been announced by Epoxies Etc. UV Cure 60-7108 is nonyellowing and moisture-resistant. Viscosity at 25 °C is 800 cycles per second, tensile strength is 3300 lb/sq in., elongation is 90%, and Shore-D hardness is 80. Operating temperature range is from –50 to 155 °C. The resin adheres to cold rolled and stainless steel, aluminum, copper, glass, nylon, polycarbonate and polypropylene. Cure speed is 10 or 12 s, depending upon the UV light source, material thickness, distance from the light and UV transmission of substrates through which the UV light must pass to reach the adhesive.
