IRVINE, Calif., June 25, 2007 -- Toshiba Imaging Systems Div. has introduced what it said is the world's smallest high-definition camera head and ultracompact control unit, the IK-HD1 3-CCD (charge-coupled device) high-definition TV (HDTV) camera. At only 1.6 in. and 2.3 oz, the system is well-suited for applications in which size and weight are critical. The 3-CCD (1/3-in. chip) interlace HD camera uses Toshiba’s 3-CCD prism block imaging technology, delivering true color with sharp detail and bright contrast from the remarkably small camera head.
