NORTHAMPTON, England, July 3, 2007 -- MicroPhase from PhaseView is a three-dimensional topography device suitable for surface characterization and 3-D measurements such as profiles, heights, roughness and waviness parameters. 
 
MicroPhase turns any microscope or stereomicroscope into a 3-D metrology device with no alteration of standard microscopy microphase.jpgobservation modes. The video CCD camera can be used with any transmission or reflection microscope equipped with a video port, with no additional optical components or accessories.

Unlike complex metrology equipment, MicroPhase relies on fully digital algorithms. With no complex setup or calibration procedures, 3-D topography images can be obtained in less than five seconds with nanometer resolution. MicroPhase combines 2-D video microscopy with automated 3-D microtopography. Fast data acquisition, topography measurement and analysis are available at the push of a button. MicroPhase is a fully certified measurement system providing data according to international standards.

MicroPhase can be used for the quantification of general and engineering surfaces, or for detection and measurement of transparent samples in cellular biology; no fluorescence staining is required to visualize low-contrast components.
