GERMANTOWN, Wisc., July 17, 2007 -- Optek-Danulat's model TF16-N is a precise, dual-channel, scattered-light turbidity meter designed to provide inline control solutions for a variety of industrial gas and liquid processes, including sanitary CIP/SIP (cleaning-in-place/sterilization-in-place).
The TF16-N monitors in-line for precise, real-time, repeatable results. High particle concentrations can be monitored color-independent at the direct-light detector. The TF16-N uses light in the near-infrared range from 730 to 970 nm.
A dual-beam design compensates for background color or color changes. A precisely defined, constant light beam penetrates the process medium. Light scattered from particles (trace-suspended solids, undissolved liquids or gas bubbles) in the medium is detected by eight hermetically sealed silicon photo diodes at an 11° angle.
Simultaneously, the unscattered light is detected by a reference photo diode. This dual-channel design compensates for disturbances such as background color or color changes of the carrier medium. The sensor can be calibrated in ppm, EBC or FTU and measures extremely low particle sizes and concentrations. The single-crystal sapphire optical window provides superior resistance to all abrasive and corrosive media.
The TF16-N turbidity meter is available with a variety of line sizes, process connections and wetted materials and can be adapted easily to a process.
