Alpine Research Optics (ARO), a supplier of thin-film coatings to manufacturers and users of Ti:sapphire ultrafast lasers, now delivers several of its most popular coatings in as little as 48 hours. Products available through its Performance Now service include high reflectors, narrowband antireflection coatings and broadband antireflection coatings -- which can be supplied at any center wavelength from 193 to 1550 nm.Also included are high- extinction-ratio plate polarizers, designed to work with high-peak-power solid-state lasers operating at 266, 355, 532and 1064 nm. Polarizer coatings at other laser wavelengths, from the ultraviolet through the near-infrared, and a selection of partial reflectors for either 0- or 45-degree incidence centered anywhere in the 266 to 1550 nm range are also available with the Performance Now service.ARO offers components that give researchers access to the same coatings used in top labs and research facilitiesProducts include flat high reflectors that deliver high reflectivity, broad spectral bandwidth, excellent laser damage resistance and minimal group velocity dispersion. Also available are thin-film polarizers that are coated to separate orthogonal polarizations with a high extinction ratio without sacrificing damage resistance or group velocity dispersion (the second surface is uncoated). These are designed for use over a broad spectral bandwidth centered on 800 nm. ARO also offers a spectral shaping filter, an intracavity optic that provides a simple route to shorter pulses (as short as 10 femtoseconds) from ultrafast amplifiers by compensating for the wavelength dependence of the Ti:sapphire gain curve ARO also produces custom optics.
