VisionResearch_Phantom7.gifVision Research Inc. has introduced a firmware upgrade to its Phantom V7.3 digital high-speed camera. The upgrade, called turbo mode, enables users to capture more pictures per second. The camera now has two operating modes. In standard mode, it captures images at between 6700 and 190,000 fps, depending upon the resolution, and the exposure time is programmable. With the turbo mode setup file, the camera can acquire images at up to 500,000 fps with 32 × 16-pixel resolution and with a fixed 1-μs exposure time. Switching between modes is accomplished via a new version of the Phantom software that is supplied with the camera.
