MAINZ, Germany, Oct. 25, 2007 -- Dilas is offering a galvo scanner for its diode laser systems. Used with its fiber-coupled diode laser compact turnkey system (25 to 400 W), a laser beam spot can be focused at any point within the working field.

GalvoScanner.jpgThe galvo scanner includes f-Theta optics, collimation, a control unit and visual laser marker (VLM) software from Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc. It is available with apertures of 20 or 30 mm (Ø) in combination with 200 -or 400-µm fibers and f-Theta optics for keeping the beam spot focused. The beam diameter is 0.6 mm in a 105 x 105-mm2 field to 3-mm in a 235 x 235-mm2 field.

The galvo scanner is suitable for applications such as quasi-simultaneous plastic welding or selective soldering; it has already been used in solar-panel processing and medical device manufacturing.
