Foss NIRSystems Inc. has developed an optimized powder analysis probe for real-time measurement of powders during semiturbulent flow drying processes and an optimized purge probe with a collecting spoon for measuring powders during drying processes. Powders and granulation processes can be monitored for low levels of residual moisture as well as for solvents and other variables. The angled probe, which can be inserted into a process vessel, connects to the company’s process analyzer via microbundle optical fibers. In- and online process analyzers determine exact chemical end points and track critical quality parameters for bulk chemical, drying, mixing operations and biological processes. The company’s XDS process analytics offers up to nine sampling points per analyzer. The analyzers are standard NEMA 4X/IP65-rated and can be upgraded to meet most electrical classifications.
