Anritsu Co. has unveiled a stressed-eye measurement hardware and software suite for its MP1800A series signal quality analyzers for measuring average output power level difference, extinction ratio and vertical eye closure penalty of optical signals. It reduces measurement times and increases efficiency for designers and manufacturers of 10G Base-L and -E optical modules and transmission equipment. It supports stressed receiver conformance to ensure that products are compliant with IEEE 802.3-2005. Measurements can be made with a power penalty of ±0.3 dB when the autocalibration function is used. The transmitter supports 1310- and 1550-nm wavelengths, and the control software supports power penalty tests, jitter tolerance margin measurements and jitter sweeps for jitter tolerance go/no-go checks.
