Suitable for OEM integration into hyperspectral imaging applications, the HP series spectrographs from BaySpec Inc. have a spectral engine that employs a volume phase grating as the dispersion element and an ultrasensitive InGaAs array detector as the detection element to provide high-speed parallel processing and continuous spectrum measurements. For input, the instruments use a tapped signal from the main data transmission link through a single-mode fiber and then collimate it with a microlens. The control electronics read out the processed digital signal to extract information, and both the raw and the processed data are available to the host. The compact and rugged devices have no moving parts, offer flexible grating options for various wavelength ranges and provide spectral resolution down to 0.3 nm. They adapt easily to a number of microscopes and cameras.
