FemtoLasers.jpgThe Femtosource scientific XL 500 laser system from Femtolasers Produktions GmbH offers an output energy level >0.5 μJ, a pulse duration <50 fs and a repetition rate >5 MHz to yield an average power level of >2.5 W and >10 MW of peak power. The center wavelength is 800 nm. Based on the company’s dispersive mirror and chirped pulse oscillator technologies, the system combines the advantages of an ultrafast oscillator and amplifiers. The oscillator technology also eliminates the need for Q-switched pump lasers, extensive cooling, high-voltage and electro-optic switches. The dimensions of the temperature-stabilized laser head are 1240 × 540 × 208 mm. Applications include spectroscopy and terahertz generation.
