Exalos.jpgExalos AG has launched the EXS8810-2411, an 880-nm superluminescent light-emitting diode (SLED) for use in medical imaging, fiber optic sensors, OCT, fiber optic gyroscopes, chromatic and polarization-mode dispersion measurements, and passive component testing. The diode provides 7 mW of output power, 55-nm bandwidth FWHM and a flattop optical spectrum in a 14-pin butterfly package. Designed for reliability, the device features 0.1-dB spectral ripple, high suppression of second coherence peaks, a built-in monitor diode and thermoelectric cooling.
