NEWBURY PARK, Calif., March 14, 2008 -- Opto Diode Corp. said its near-infrared (IR) red-enhanced, 6-mm² ODA-6W-500M photodetector-preamplifier is a combination device that offers 500-Mohm gain (custom gains are available0 in low-light environments and has a large active area.

optopreamp.jpgThe high-sensitivity NIR wavelength response at 940 nm is typically 315 V/µW, min. 290.

The detector is designed for easy integration into new and existing systems. Storage and operating temperature ranges from -25 °C to +100 °C.

Units are available at $44.80 each in OEM quantities of 100 pieces.

The detector combination is one of three devices in Opto Diode's new line of TO-39 packaged photodetector preamp products.

According to the company, they are deal for medical diagnostics, such as fluorescence and spectroscopy, test and measurement, and other tasks that require low-light-level (less than 1 mW) detection.
