Synrad Inc. says its Fenix laser marker creates crisp, permanent marks on plastics, metals and wood at up to 180 characters per second. The heart of the system is a 25-W sealed CO2 laser that is coupled to a galvo-based marking head. Internal cooling fans and power supplies create a self-contained system. Windows-based marking software, WinMark Lite, is included with the system for graphics and alphanumerics. WinMark Pro is available for more advanced applications, such as serialization and bar coding.
