BERLIN, Jan. 12, 2009 – Lumics has introduced the Med-Laser with wavelengths of 808 and 980 nm and with maximum output power of 10 W at the fiber end. It is suitable for use in dentistry, dermatology, veterinary, hair and tattoo removal, and wellness applications.

Lumics-Medical-Laser-Module.jpgIt is equipped with all required sensors, including a thermistor, monitor photodiodes, fiber sensors and a red pilot beam as required by law. The fiber patch cord can be exchanged by the operator.

The compact design and the simple electrical supply, including sensor readout, make the laser suited for use in narrow and space-limited environments and make it portable. The design is epoxy-free. Single-emitter diode laser technology provides a mean-time-to-failure of more than 40k h.
