The RoHS-compliant polarization beamsplitter from Union Optic Inc. produces two parallel output beams separated by a lateral displacement that is determined by the size of the rhomboid prism. It comprises one or two rhomboid prisms that are cemented to a right-angle prism. Parallelism between the input and output beams is within 30 arcsec. A wave plate can be added to manage the polarization state of the output beams. Scratch-dig surface quality is 40/20.

rhomboid prism
A reflecting prism that is rhomboidal in shape. It has two parallel transmitting faces, and two parallel reflecting faces; the latter are oblique to the former (usually but not necessarily at 45°).
