Bristol Instruments Inc. has released the 228 series optical wavelength meters for the precise wavelength characterization of tunable DWDM, distributed feedback and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers. The 228A model can measure wavelength to an accuracy of ±0.3 pm between 700 and 1650 nm, while the 228B model delivers an accuracy of ±1 pm. It also has a measurement repeatability of ≥99.6 per cent and offers continuous calibration with a built-in wavelength standard. The rugged design is suitable for use in manufacturing environments, and measurements are provided in as short as 50 ms.
