HAWTHORN WOODS, Ill., Feb. 11, 2009 – The SunSpot-SM ultra-high output UV spot-cure wand system was introduced by LuminDynamics Inc. for 3 to 8 mm diameter spot exposure applications.

LuminDynamics-UV-Spot-Light.jpgOffering the capability of utilizing bifurcated and quad-pole light wands, the system is suitable for fast curing of light curable adhesives, coatings and encapsulants. The system employs a 90 to 265 VAC line input, a switch mode power supply that maintains constant lamp power and a 1 to 99 s timer controlled shutter that is foot pedal or PLC controlled. It also includes a front panel hour meter that monitors the accumulated lamp use to allow for consistent lamp replacement scheduling.

Applications include the assembly of medical devices, including syringes, catheters and tube sets, audiology devices, PCB wire tacking, repair of conformal coatings, coil winding, fiber optic termination, optic assemblies, curing of glob top coatings and glass bonding.
