CRANSTON, R.I., Feb. 13, 2009 – Electro Standards Laboratories has introduced its Model 6008 high-density, pre-terminated fiber optic cassette. It breaks out one MTP eight-strand fiber cable into eight ST military style connectors. The MTP ESL-FIberOpticCassette.jpgconnector is an eight-strand single-mode angle polish one. Each ST connector is a single-strand single-mode military style type. This rugged system saves duct space and installation time. Up to three cassettes mount into a Model 3294 rack-mount fiber patch enclosure.

The cassette’s rear cabling side contains an MTP interface for connecting the trunk or backbone cabling. An internal optical assembly within the cassette interconnects the rear and front ports. A speedy connection is established when patch cords from the equipment are plugged into the front-panel military style connectors.
