A compact fiber optic spectrometer that measures near-IR spectra within milliseconds has been unveiled by B&W Tek Inc. The BTC262E, suitable for materials research, process monitoring and control applications, uses an extended-wavelength InGaAs diode array sensor that responds to 2200 nm. Three-stage thermoelectric cooling maintains temperatures below –25 °C for dark noise reduction with no dry nitrogen purge. The included BWSpec software includes DLL drivers for LabView, Visual Basic and Visual C++.
