Photron Inc. has released the Fastcam SA5, a digital video camera that operates at 7500 fps with 1024 × 1000-pixel resolution. Available with a 12-bit monochrome or 36-bit RGB color sensor, it offers 1-μs global shuttering. The remote-control keypad has an RS-422 interface and is included with the built-in 5-in. LCD screen for computer-free operation. Three memory configurations are offered: 8, 16 and 32 GB. The company’s Fastcam Viewer freeware and a software developer’s kit are available for users who want to integrate camera control, replay and download into existing software.
