BaySpec.jpgBaySpec Inc.’s MiniLite 1064-nm series fiber-coupled lasers are suitable for applications in analytical Raman spectroscopy and in test and measurement. Maximum threshold current is 10 mA, maximum operating forward current, 750 mA, and maximum operating forward voltage, 2.5 V. Minimum output power is 250 mW, and spectral width FWHM is 0.3 nm maximum. The side-mode suppression ratio is 40 dB minimum. The device operates over a temperature range from –20 to 75 °C and in 85% relative humidity. Other applications include confocal microscopy, medical diagnostics and fiber optic sensing.

Raman spectroscopy is dependent on the collision of incident light quanta with the molecule, inducing the molecule to undergo the change.
